The mission of CASA of the Gateway Region is to utilize trained community volunteers to provide quality advocacy to children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or dependency and help ensure that those children have a safe, permanent home.

WHAT WE DO
Court Appointed Special Advocate® (CASA) volunteers are community members, just like you, who stand up and speak out to help abused and neglected children.
CASA Gateway is one of 18 CASA programs in Kentucky. The CASA programs in Kentucky are part of a larger national network.
The National CASA/GAL Association for Children is a national organization advocating for abused and neglected children in the court system and in foster care. There are more than 900 local CASA programs across the country receiving technical assistance and training from National CASA/GAL.
OUR ROLE
CASA is here for the child in need
When a foster care case begins, the courtroom is full—judges, social workers, attorneys, biological parents, and family members all advocating from different perspectives. Yet the child, whose life is most affected, can easily become lost in the process as decision-makers juggle heavy caseloads and limited time.
CASA ensures the child’s voice is heard, advocating for their needs and wishes so they are not overlooked amid the competing interests surrounding the case.
